The street piano we’ll be introducing this time is located at Machiya Cultural Center in Arakawa Ward.
This street piano is equipped with an originally designed grand piano.
The days on which it can be played change each month, so you’ll need to check the official website.

This piano is also known as the “Piano of Wishes.”

Please check before playing.
If sound leaks into the hallway, it will cause inconvenience to other stores. Please make sure the entrance door (on the Keisei Electric Railway and Tokyo Metro side) is closed before playing.
*The door is directly in front of you (slightly to the left) when sitting down from the piano.
If there are other people waiting to play, please keep your playing time to 10 minutes or less and take turns, and please be considerate of other users.
We ask for your understanding and cooperation so that everyone who uses Machinaka Piano can have a wonderful time.

The easiest route is from Machiya Station, but we’ll show you the route from the first floor.
There is a poster as you enter the entrance.
There are stairs on the left, so go up to the second floor.
When you go up to the second floor, there is a corridor on the left. Follow that corridor and you will find the piano on your right.

Machiya Cultural Center is just a short distance away from Machiya Station. There is also a connecting walkway, making it easily accessible from the station.

Opening days are limited, so be sure to check the official website for the days you can play.
This is an easy spot for even street piano beginners to play.
At first I wasn’t sure where the street piano was, but it might be easier to find if you come from the station side.
It was a lovely piano, and I was lucky that no one was playing it.
Also, the street leading to the cultural center had a nice retro atmosphere.
