The street piano here is installed in a place that at first glance looks difficult to play, but once you play it, you’ll be hooked on how easy it is to play.
Piano Type : Upright Piano
This cutely designed piano can be found in a stylish office building.
I’m curious as to the intention behind installing it there.
Apparently this piano was a second-hand piano that has been refurbished and given new life, and I think it produces a really nice sound.
Installation date : Permanent
Playable time :11:00 to 19:00
Notes
Please refrain from any disruptive behavior such as playing other instruments, singing, dancing, sitting down, taking photos for long periods of time, monopolizing the piano, or calling out to others.
Location
3rd floor, Tokyo Port City Takeshiba Office Tower, 1-7-1 Kaigan, Minato-ku, Tokyo
If you use Google Maps, you may end up taking a longer route.
There is an easy route from Hamamatsucho Station to the street piano, so please refer to it.
I recommend using it when it rains as it has a roof.
①:After exiting the north exit of Hamamatsucho Station, turn right.
② :As soon as you exit the station, there is a pedestrian-only walkway, so follow that path.
On Google Maps, this is “Hamamatsucho Station – Takeshiba Pier Pedestrian Deck.”
③ :You will see an escalator, so get on it.
④ :There is another escalator ahead, so take that.
⑤ :Once you have finished riding the escalator, go right at the end.
Then just go straight and you will see the entrance.
After entering the entrance, there is a street piano on the left side a short distance away.
Recommended access : Train
The nearest station is Takeshiba Station on the Yurikamome Line.
However, in terms of transport access, I think it’s easier to get there from JR Hamamatsucho Station.
Afterword
This is a spot where even beginners can easily play street pianos.
We recommend going from Hamamatsucho Station.
Since it’s easy to play, there’s a high chance that someone will take it.
The street piano this time was inside an office building, but it had a nice atmosphere.
I don’t know what it’s like on weekdays, but it’s one of my personal recommendations.
I visited on a weekend, and there were quite a few people there (about 100 people).
Also, I think the night view from Port City Takeshiba is probably beautiful.
It’s on the opposite side from where the street piano is, but I think you can get a panoramic view of Tokyo Tower and the night view.
