There is a grand piano installed in a square called Triangle Square, and the ceiling is high so the sound resonates very well.
However, it is not noisy and there is a quiet atmosphere within, creating a unique atmosphere.

There are tables and chairs set up in the square, and there are many people there, from those listening to performances to those working.
One of the characteristics of this place is that many people with high playing skills play here.
So, although it can be a tense spot to play, it is a street piano spot with a great atmosphere.

The history of the triangle piano

Shinjuku Sumitomo Building was the first skyscraper in Japan to exceed 200 meters in height, and has been affectionately nicknamed the “Triangle Building” due to its impressive shape. In 2020, “Triangle Square” was born as a new hub for Shinjuku’s lively activities.
This piano has been playing in the former “Sumitomo Hall” since the building was completed in 1974. With its new home in Triangle Square, we hope that it will continue to be loved by everyone, along with the lively Nishi-Shinjuku area.

You can also get there from Shinjuku Station.
