Street piano at Ryuryu Square

The street piano we’d like to introduce this time is located in Ryuryu Square in Taito Ward, Tokyo.
This street piano is only available on open days, but it’s a great spot where you can feel free to play it.

Piano Type : Upright Piano

I visited just after 4pm.
There was no one there and I called out to her but got no response, so I just went ahead and played.
It was supposed to be a old piano, but it was fun.

Installation date : Limited Time Offer

Performance times are usually between 15:00 and 18:00.

Notes

Please wear a mask at Ryuryu Square.

Please disinfect your hands with alcohol before playing.

As a general rule, there will be no spectators.
Please be mindful to avoid crowding.

Group use is not permitted (piano lessons, etc.)

Please refrain from bringing in other instruments.

Please refrain from singing to prevent infection.

The piano is a KAWAI grandma piano.

Please play gently.

If you search for a place called Ryuryu Square on Google Maps, you won’t find it.
Ryuryu Square is operated by Daisan Kensyo Co., Ltd., so its name on the map is Daisan Kensyo Co., Ltd.

It may be difficult to see on the map, but in the image taken from a nearby apartment building, the arrow is pointing to Ryuryu Square.
(it is called “Ryuryu Hiroba”).

The nearest station is Iriya Station, which is a 6-minute walk away.

This street piano is only open on open days, so check the official website in advance.
There are times when no one is in the room, which can be unsettling.
Most of the time it is open on weekdays, so if you’re out and about on the weekends, you’re lucky if you can play it.

When I visited the room, it was my first time experiencing an unmanned street piano.
Is it OK for me to play here? Is this really the right place? The feeling of anxiety was similar to that when I rented a piano from a rental space.
